A repeatable,
symmetric and swirl-free velocity profile is an optimal flow
regime for flow meters. Even pumps and compressors require three
to ten pipe diameters of un-obstructed straight run upstream from
their inlets. An uneven distribution of the flow stream into
impellors can result in severe suction recirculation, excessive
bearing wear, erosion, noise, and increased maintenance costs. The Vortab Elbow flow conditioner reduces these velocity profile
anomalies and can be fitted with a multitude of process
connections to ease installation,

004580. Vortab Elbow can also be supplied with extended settling chambers
and flow element connections to accommodate flow meters and other
critical process equipment

chamber allows the turbulence intensity to decrease while
maintaining the repeatable velocity profile. This creates an
optimal flow scenario for flow meters of all technologies. VORTAB
flow conditioners provide the lowest pressure loss solutions to
flow profile irregularities caused by elbows, valves, blowers,
compressors and other disruptions that commonly occur in piping
and duct runs.
